Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Illinois.

Dear Miss Addams:

A request has come to us from W. S. Y. Critchley, Secretary of "The Form" (cooperating with National Council of Defense), for your services as a speaker to address the citizens of Joplin, Missouri, sometime after your return from California in April.

We should be very glad to have you accept this request, if you would like to make the address, and would appreciate very much an early reply.

With [much] appreciation of your spirit of cooperation in all matters pertaining to this Department, and with my kindest wishes for you, I am,

Faithfully yours,

By
Chief -- Speaking Division.

P.S. If you decide to take the engagement, will you kindly set a date when it would be convenient for you to go?
