Dearest Lady --

Your delightful gifts have just come. What could be more inspired than the wonderful blue shawl for an asthma lady and such a gorgeous knitting bag for an old woman who has knitted sixteen sweaters this summer!

I would love to see you about Geneva but I will ask Emily Balch to see you at once and I will surely see you early in Dec. when I am coming to N.Y. & hope to bring Mary also. [page 2] You are awfully good about it. I am going to do my best to persuade Emily Balch to go over. They all respect her and love her to boot, she can probably do more than anyone else.

I will write you again about it. Mary is out but will write you on her own anyway, but I am sending this off to express my gratitude and unending affection.

I am always, as you know, devotedly yours

Jane Addams
