My dear Miss Addams:

While I was in Europe your note regarding a box of books came to my office and was duly acknowledged. Two or three boxes have come and were opened by the library force. We are very grateful for additions to our reference library, [and] above the value of the books themselves, we appreciate your interest and [cooperation].

I have but recently returned to the college from a two months' visit to Central Europe. I had a very illuminating experience, especially in such a center as Prague. I was entertained by the Ministry of Education there and was taught a good many things.

With best wishes, I am

Cordially yours,

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ill.
