WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM
My dear Mrs. Zen,
The enclosed Manifesto to the Chinese women was passed by the Executive Board of the W.I.L. Meeting in Liège, Belgium. I am venturing to send the resolutions to you hoping that you will be able to get them into the hands of as many Chinese women as possible. I am also sending the original to Mrs. Grover Clark, whose husband edits the Peking Leader in Peking. I am sure she will be glad to have them multigraphed and give you as many copies as you can use. The French Section are sending over Mrs. Drevet, but the American Section are asking Mrs. Clark to act for them both because she is an American, because she belongs to our W.I.L. and because she is more thoroughly informed as to the situation in China than anyone else we could possibly find. I shall be very grateful to you for anything you can do to spread the documents among Chinese women. Perhaps you can send it to some women's organizations in Shanghai. I am also sending Miss Lee, Dean of Women, Nanking University, who seems much interested in matters of this sort.
I will send you more material concerning the Honolulu Meeting very soon. I shall like nothing better than to come to China after the meeting is finished but I am afraid that I cannot promise to take any speaking engagements until my health is better established than it is just now.
With [cordially] greetings to your husband and yourself, I am
Faithfully yours,
