My dear dear Friend
Mr Nunn who is the Chairman of the Barnett Fellowship Trustees asks me to send you this letter.
I can only add to do that I am deeply [page 2] grateful that the jointly obtained money shld be used for an American.
I feel sometimes with an almost paralyzing force that the peace of the whole world depend on you or our mutual trust in each other -- & yet dear I am 76 yesterday & can do so little.
However I have pulled this fellowship through for one of your great nation this time -- I hope you will send a man. Yours always & [illegible] H. O. Barnett.
[written at the top of page 1] Please send soon the promised letter about Bunker Hill.
