Jane Addams to Marguerite Gobat, ca. May 26, 1922

My dear Miss Gobat: --

I should have to answer "No" to the first three questions because, while fully appreciating the advantages set forth, I think we would do better to keep the Geneva office allowing the rent of the rooms to carry the expenses of the offices (rent, heat, etc.) as much as possible. The meeting of the executive board for 1922 could be held elsewhere if necessary and of course the board meeting in 1923 will be held at the place of the Congress. It seems to me that we have made our footing in Geneva and would sacrifice a great deal in making a change. However, I am quite prepared to stand by the decision of the majority. ↑Faithfully yours↓ Jane Addams [signed]
