WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM

Dear [Madeleine] Doty

I am putting a note into this ↑Mrs [Richard's]↓ letter as you see.

The other W.I.L. Sections do not get a proportionate share of Pax, and it would not be fair to ask the ↑other countries↓ to contribute on an equal basis. The U.S.A. gets at least 6000 ↑more↓ copies than any one else, ↑on the ground that the U.S.A. pays $200 for printing.↓ I think that it would be better to use the $200 a month from the Garland Fund for this one more year and then bring Pax to the U.S.A. to be issued as a publication for the National Section, raising the money here for that. Miss Sheepshanks or anyone else would naturally want her own organ from Geneva. [page 2]

Please do not try anything in way of collecting the International dues for memberships in the U.S.A. We have tried it too often & the present arrangement must not be distributed.

All sorts of good wishes for a Merry Xmas to you and to the dear Household.

Affectionately yours

Jane Addams
