"THE SCIENTIFIC
STUDY OF
HUMAN BEHAVIOR"

In order to try to develop means for prevention and cure of those disorders which result in misbehavior and delinquency in children and criminality and mental diseases in adults, the Friends of the Institute for Juvenile Research are undertaking to raise the sum of $55,000 a year for five years, or a total of $275,000. It is their purpose to create a Behavior Research Fund which shall make of the Institute for Juvenile Research a world center for the advancement of knowledge and the development of means for the prevention and cure of human suffering in this field.

In order to raise any such sum it is of course necessary to have a number of large contributions ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 a year for five years. But, it is also important to have everyone in the community who believes that this work ought to be done showing their interest by making such contributions as they feel are possible for them.

There is no sum too small to express the interest of the person who gives it or to give encouragement to the development of this work. It is the hope of the committee that all people of [goodwill] who believe it important to know more about these sources of human suffering will make some contribution to this fund, however small.
