Biographical Text

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman citizen during the Roman Empire. He was adopted by the Roman Emperor, Antoninus Pius, as his heir. After Pius died, he and his adopted brothers became co-emperors. He was considered one of the 5 Good Emperors and ruled during the Pax Romana. He died in 181 CE.
