Wilson Utilized Ideas Of Women, Jane Addams Says
NEW YORK, March 24. -- (By Associated Press.) -- Ideas produced by the Women's International League for Peace were profitably built on by Woodrow Wilson and used by him in launching the league of nations at Paris, Miss Jane Addams, noted welfare and peace worker, asserted yesterday in an address before the organization of which she is president.
"Mr. Wilson thought well of the report of our first meeting," said Miss Addams, "and sent at various times for copies of it. While women may have been able to accomplish little in the direction of peace, yet they made certain suggestions which have been helpful."
Mrs. Ida [Clyde] Clark, editor of the Pictorial Review, [criticized] newspapers for using space telling that women's feet were getting bigger or waist lines gaining in circumference, while ignoring important things that women do.
