Miss Addams Explains.

Leaving the Immigration Building, Miss Addams said:

"It is well for the Department of Justice to guard the country against enemies, but in this instance the Department of Justice has become a Departure from Justice."

"[Gertrud] Baer is secretary of the German section of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom," said Miss Addams. "She is one of the progressive women of modern Germany. She is not a radical, nor a revolutionist, nor an anarchist but a sound-minded woman, and one of the dearest little souls in the world."
