My dear Mrs Blaine:

Mr Judd telephones that he can not get away, but we seem to be coming out fairly well with the people who are in Springfield working on other Committees. May I send you the enclosed list of the membership of the Committees, and if things go badly with us on Wednesday ask you to telegraph at least to the Chicago members. Of course all the telegrams would be sent to the House or Senate. I hope it won't be necessary but the [theater] interests are well [entrenched] and I am rather afraid of them.

Hastily yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
