62 WASHINGTON SQUARE
NEW YORK

My dear Miss Addams

You could not possibly inconvenience me but of course I was disappointed that the committee sat in Washington rather than here for it would have been such a pleasure to have you with me. I understand from Mrs Villard that you will be in New York on Sunday. [page 2] I don't want to [quit?] but I want you any time you will make a convenience of me. We took up your idea at once and have sent for your New Republic article as well as sending to Chicago for the Irish pamphlet, both will go out as soon as we can get them. The work is growing very fast. We could use three stenographers all the time if we had them. Margaret Crook has [page 3] agreed to act as executive secretary and begins work on the first of January. The work can grow just as fast as we get money. Mrs Leach tells me it is coming in well -- did you like my letter? Please tell me when you don't like the way I am going. If you are at Mrs Villards on Sunday evening I will see you there -- and your home is here when you'll use it.

Affectionately

Mabel --
