Hon. Bainbridge Colby
Secretary of State
Washington, D.C.

My dear Mr. Colby:

We are very grateful for your letter, the reading of which much cheered our Committee which now calls itself "The American Committee for the Relief of Russian Women and Children". May I send you some reports in a few days of the English Friends Service Committee which succeeded in getting large quantities of hospital supplies into Petrograd and Moscow on the 29th of March, as well as some of our first printing.

Thanking you most sincerely for your very great kindness in the matter and assuring you of our appreciation of your courtesy in granting us the interview and in sending us such a prompt reply, I am

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
