My dear Miss Addams:
I am writing in reference to Mr. Moors and the possibility of his acceptance of an offer to become Ambassador to Mexico. He is a member of the firm of Moors & Cabot, Boston bankers, one of the seven fellows of Harvard University, and President Lowell's closest advisor, a Democratic in politics and a very ardent admirer of President Wilson. He is the Director of the Workingmen's Loan Association, President of the Associated Charities of Boston, and was the Director of the Red Cross Relief in San Francisco at the time of the earthquake.
His attitude toward Mexico has been uniformly friendly as illustrated in the enclosed pamphlet. It is our judgement that if the President could be induced to appoint him it would materially better relations between the two governments.
Very sincerely yours,
James G McDonald [signed]
[R. G.] [initialed]
Chairman.
