My dear Miss Addams,

I enclose herewith check for $56.63. The annual interest on the $15,000 bonds is $535.00 (3-1/2%), the semi-annual payment $262.50. The bank charges 25 cts to make the collection in New York, leaving $262.25. Of this I have taken $205.62, being the part taken from the capital, at the time of the purchase, to pay for accumulated interest, and have placed it in the savings bank, where we had already placed $119.88. With the accrued interest on the first installment we have now in the savings bank $325.80. Hereafter the entire semi-annual payment, $262.50 less collection, will be at your disposal in such way as you deem best.
