My dear Mrs. Karsten: --
I am more than sorry that your programs were held up by the Norman Angell episode, and I am anxiously waiting now to see which copies you finally send out.
A former letter inquired about badges. We had not forgotten them but fear that we did not arrange for as elaborate ones as you have usually had. All of the badges are to be of blue ribbon, one set marked "Delegate," and the other "W.P.P.", just to designate membership in the Party.
I have engaged a double room for you and Miss Addams at Hotel Adelphia and trust you will be comfortable there. Our Committee wants me to ask whether the National Board will appoint a Press Committee to give out to reporters the account of the meetings. After a great deal of discussion by the Local Committee and by the Friends' Committee, who have given us the use of the Meeting House, this plan seemed to be the most satisfactory to all concerned. I hope you will approve.
Kindly let me know at your convenience just when you and Miss Addams will arrive in Philadelphia as I want to see you.
With cordial greetings and hoping that your troubles are over, I am
Sincerely yours,
P.S. Mrs. Post said that the programs would come here [page 2] to be printed so I shall look for them from you or from her by the end of this week.
You will think that our Pennsylvania Branch is very exacting but they wish the term "Annual Meeting" instead of "Convention" always used, even on the program. We have had to cross out the word, "Convention" on the preliminary program and insert "Meeting," so I shall have to do this on the final programs as well.
