Chauncey Keep purchased and expanded a summer estate in 1895, "Highland Cottage" in Camden Maine in which he and his family lived during summers until 1929. He built an additional summer home known as "Timberclyffe" on the property which was later dismantled in the mid 1900's . Keep also purchased numerous other parcels and cottages on Hosmer Pond in Camden (from Knox County Deed records). Keep's original "Highland Cottage" is now an Inn called "Timbercliffe Cottage" and retains the original character,( owned by Lucia and Kevin deCordre). Chauncy Keep's great philanthropic efforts including significant contributions to the town's library and green are noted throughout the town of Camden.
