My dear Miss Gulliver

May I write you of my friend Mrs. Haworth who was in our class of '81 as Nora Frothingham. She has recently come back from Japan where she has been teaching for nineteen years. During the last few years of that time she had charge of a school for English speaking children which she worked up into a very [professional] affair. [page 2] She has taught Latin, English as advanced studies and almost all the high school studies. She is so bright and [illegible] and altogether capable that I am venturing to hope that there may be a vacancy on the staff of the faculty of her alma mater. She is eager for a place and if there [is] any chance may she come out to see you?

Always faithfully yours

Jane Addams
