May 25th, 1917.
My dear Miss Addams:
I am enclosing a copy of my note to Miss Breckinridge in order that you may bring it to the attention of the Board in connection with the Treasurer's Report, which will probably be somewhat depressing. Of course I want to help in any way I can as a member of the Chicago Branch, and in a strictly volunteer fashion, until there is a demand for more definite work in my line.
Miss Phelps has asked me to call your attention especially to the communications in regard to Madame [Duchêne] and the equal wage secured by French women during the war. I had this material in Washington at our Board Meeting in April, but had no chance to present it.
Sincerely yours,
Miss Jane Addams,
12 West Walton Place,
Chicago, Illinois.
