Biographical Text

Sir William Blackstone was an English writer, judge, and professor during the eighteenth century. He is mainly associated with the British Enlightenment. Blackstone wrote about and practiced English law, giving various lectures on the subject. He is best known for his work Commentaries on the Laws of England. Blackstone died in 1780.
