10 January 1912.

Dear Miss Addams:

I think I am betraying no confidence in sending you this extract from Dr. Shaw's letter which is in answer to the following statement made by me to her; in my letter of January second.

"I am not personally acquainted with Miss Wagner, and have no prejudice, but reports that I [have] received from disinterested women convince me her methods are not adapted to our state, and it will be difficult to secure harmony, as long as she is there. Miss Grimm is liked, and is making a fine impression."
