Biographical Text

Thomas Arnold was the headmaster of the Rugby Public School in England. As headmaster, he made major reforms that made the Rugby Public School the ideal model for all other public schools in England to follow.

Arnold was married to Mary Penrose Arnold. They had three children including poet Matthew Arnold. Arnold died in 1842.
