Description
This small collection provides uneven and incomplete documentation of Schneiderman's life and activity. Of most value are series one & five, consisting of correspondence, the bulk from the years before World War I. Topics covered for those years are personal & family matters, trade unions and WTUL affairs, suffrage and socialism. Information is provided on the relation of class and gender, and the networks that sustained Schneiderman and other women in the male dominated trade union movement. Correspondents include Pauline Newman, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Frances Perkins, and Max Zaritsky.
