The Institutional Memory Section is the official repository for all records of the organization that have enduring historical and administrative value.

Fonds and Collections include: United Nations Office at Geneva Archives, League of Nations Archives, International Peace Movements Archives, Private Archives, and Collections (i.e.: brochures, pamphlets, visual materials).

The holdings include 8 fonds and collections comprised of 6 linear kilometers of personal and organizational records that documents a variety of subject areas.

For UN Office at Geneva Archives, the majority of records are accessible to the public 20 years after closure of the file. Access to restricted records can be requested. All other archives materials are accessible to the public.
