Records of the Henry Street Settlement, a settlement house located on New York City's Lower East Side. The records document the administration and programs of a leading organization in the settlement movement and reflect social issues affecting immigrants and low income groups. Other social service organizations in New York City are also documented. The bulk of the records date from 1933 to 1967, the years when Helen Hall served as headworker. The records also contain material dating from the administrations of founder, Lillian D. Wald, and Helen Hall's successor, Bertram M. Beck.
