My dear Miss Addams:

You will probably remember that my sister Mrs. Wiles and myself gave the funds to the summer school at Waukegan to build a cottage in the memory of our mother.

We now have on hand about $4,000.00 which we wish to use in some sort of a useful memorial for an aunt, Mrs. Mary E. D. Goodfellow. It [occurred] to us that you might have some specific way which this sum could be used to the best advantage.
