My dear Miss Addams,

After Miss Kellor had left town yesterday, Mr. Perkins spoke to me about your letter of the 22nd to Senator Dixon. He said that he felt some delicacy about intruding upon your vacation to take up any matter regarding the campaign, feeling that you should not be disturbed, but he said he hoped that you would not for a moment think of resigning your membership on the Executive Committee where your counsel and advice are so much needed. He is sure it will not take much of your time or be a burden to you. If you will let him know when it is convenient for you to be in this neighborhood, he would like very much to arrange a meeting to go over the organization work of the campaign.

As Senator Dixon has already given out the names of the members of the Executive Committee to the newspapers and as they have been very generally circulated, Mr. Perkins feels that the question of making a change now would be rather awkward.

Very sincerely yours,

Eleanor Garrison [signed]

Miss Jane Addams,
c/o Mrs. J. S. Bowen.
Bar Harbor, Me.
