Dear Miss Addams: --

As a keen British Suffragist and an ex-prisoner for the Cause, may I be allowed to congratulate and thank you with my whole heart for your magnificent speech at the Progressive Convention?

I have only just received the Outlook which contains a report of your speech, hence my belated letter. I should also like to wish the new party every possible success.

To me a novice, as far as American conditions and politics are concerned,  it seems just [page 2] the right party with the right platform for the uplifting of the American masses and the betterment of the American people generally.

I am

Yours in the great cause for the betterment of humanity

Allan Ross Macdougall
