Dear Madeleine Doty --

May we in view of the different circumstances connected with the meeting held in Geneva on the evening of August 30th under the auspices of the W.I.L. make the following suggestions as to future meetings which you may wish to [organize]:

1. No name of any speaker should be ever be printed or published before she or her has definitely agreed to speak.

2. No political public meeting should be [organized] unless the speakers concerned are consulted about and have agreed with its political purpose. [page 2]

3. Any meeting [organized] by W.I.L. headquarters must be kept in hand and no speakers invited by third persons, who are not in agreement with W.I.L. politics.

We should keep in mind that the political situation in a good many countries is still so complicated that we ought not to commit the W.I.L. or any of its representatives to political adventures which might rather damage than promote the cause of peace internationally or in our respective countries.

Yours very sincerely

Gertrud Baer
