Ms. Andrée Jouve, Associate Professor at the University, welcomes as boarders:

Girls from all countries who wish to learn French;

French or foreign girls who wish to complete their education and general culture with a well-directed stay in Paris.

She also welcomes day students who attend classes and can participate in walks and museum visits.

Boarding: There are 9 or 10 boarders. The environment is familial and simple, conducive to the careful study of the French language [page 2]. Community life in an atmosphere of trust and friendship is based on mutual understanding and mutual support.

The house, located 5 minutes from the Bois de Boulogne, not far from the Trocadéro gardens, is healthy and cheerful, with all modern amenities. At the center, a large workshop opens onto a terrace. The food is plentiful and well-prepared. Walks in the Bois de Boulogne in winter, around Paris during the summer, and weekly Hébert gymnastics maintain excellent health.

Studies: The work is directed according to the young girls' individual tastes and inclinations and follows modern methods. The goal is to develop in them a sense of hard work, effort, and inner discipline, intellectual appetite, and a taste for beautiful things.

Students who do not speak French take a series of language courses and practical exercises. As soon as they can understand French, they take courses in French literature and text explanations, French history and geography, and art history. They are required to complete oral and written assignments.

The art history course is supplemented by walks through Paris and visits to monuments and museums; the literature course is supplemented by readings and theater. Qualified teachers give private lessons in mathematics, Latin, music, etc.

From time to time, lectures and discussions on current issues are held. The girls are guided in the selection of theatrical performances and concerts. They can take classes at the Sorbonne and are helped with their work, if necessary.

Each girl freely observes the practices of her religion. The girls have as much freedom in daily life as their age allows and their families permit. [page 3]

Conditions: The school year begins on October 1st and ends on July 1st; it therefore consists of three terms separated by 15 days of vacation at Christmas and 15 days at Easter.

The cost of boarding and all communal living, 10 hours of French lessons per week, and one gymnastics lesson is:

↑$240↓ per term, payable in advance.

Accommodations are available for students who do not require all the lessons, or for cases where the term has already begun.

It is preferable to register before July 1st for the October intake, and to submit a deposit at the time of registration.

A list of references and additional information will be sent to those who request it. [page 4]
