18th June, 1927.
Miss Emily Balch.
To Members of the International Executive Committee.
Dear Madam,
I have pleasure in enclosing herewith the Notes of a meeting between Miss Louie Bennett and some members of the British Executive Committee. The conclusions come to were submitted to the meeting of the British Executive on June 14th and endorsed by it. They are, therefore, being sent to Miss Bennett as Chairman of the [Subcommittee].
I should add that Miss Pye has expressed her willingness to be nominated as a member of the delegation to China, the understanding being that the objects of the delegation are those quoted in a letter to National Sections on March 26th; as follows:
(1) to establish closer contacts between the women of the East and the West.
(2) to confer with Chinese women on conditions in China with a view to educating public opinion in our own countries in [favor] of:
(a) international recognition of the sovereignty of the Chinese people;
(b) a higher standard of industrial conditions in the Concession Areas.
(3) to interest Chinese women in the aims and objects of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.
Yours sincerely,
