My dear Mrs. Watson,
Your letter of the [9th] telling me that Miss Dorothy Detzer had written you of my desire of having Miss Jane Addams come to York has been received.
Our Conservation Society which is composed of the prominent citizens of York, a city of sixty thousand people and York Co. are very anxious to have Miss Addams come to York and address us on the ethical issues of conservation or any subject that she may desire to present. We can guarantee an audience of from six to seven hundred in a commodious auditorium.
I am very anxious to have Miss Addams come. York is only a very short distance from the main route from or to Chicago with splendid express trains. We will arrange to make Miss Addams comfortable. Please induce her to come.
Very cordially yours,
