Daily Jewish Courier,
Thursday, January 20, 1927.

A committee of 100 of Chicago's most prominent citizens, together with over 1400 invited [guests] will assemble tonight at the Furniture Mart on Lake Shore Drive, at a dinner given in honor of Miss Jane Addams of Hull House. This committee represents the spiritual leadership of our community, the higher intelligence and the followers of liberal thought.

The "one hundred" and their guests will naturally be at the dinner table, but the number of those who will be present in spirit will be legion, for Miss Jane Addams is loved and cherished by the masses of Chicago's various nationalities. Miss Addams is Hull House. She is the founder and hers is the spirit that has lead the institution for forty years. Thousands of the multi-colored Chicago population, especially from the West Side where Hull House is located, -- Greeks, Jews, Italians, Slavs, Armenians, and who not -- have found at Hull House counsel and enlightenment, guides and interpreters, as they needed them. In matters of public interest, whenever Miss Addams raised her voice, or wrote her opinions, it was always on the side of righteousness and of love of humanity.

Miss Addams is a glorious personality, a real devoted soul among the nations of the earth, who has given up her entire life to the service of others. She fully deserves all the honor that Chicago and America can possibly give her.
