This is to acknowledge your wire which arrived a few hours ago & to tell you how deeply grieved I feel about Miss Addams' state of health. Our groups will be very sorry, indeed, to cancel the engagements, as their preparations were already made on a large scale. The main thing, however, is to know that one serves Miss [page 2] Addams' recovery. I hope the rest will do her good. Please, give her my love and my very best wishes.
It is hard to write in a foreign language when it comes to expressing feelings which lay way off. "Congress terms!"
