Dear Mr. Weybright:

I am returning the letter from the Japanese gentleman. I think the thing to do is to hold this for Miss [Addams'] return.

The Macmillan Company will be very glad to waive its rights in a Japanese translation of TWENTY YEARS AT HULL HOUSE, stipulating only that such translation, if published, is to be sold only in Japan, and Japanese speaking countries, and is not to be imported or sold in this country. With this permission Miss [Addams] is free to make such arrangements for the translation as she wishes, provided she has not previously disposed of the Japanese rights.
