Dear Miss Addams,
Mrs. Brailsford & I wish to send our good wishes. I hope your illness is not so serious as some of the papers have said. It is one of the penalties of being famous to have things "grossly exaggerated" besides being kidnapped by such enterprising newspaper people as we have here.
I heard from Dr. Sydney Strong today. He expects to [page 2] leave England for his Seattle home about August 20th, so you may see him in Chicago. He has sent splendid "stories" from his daughter Anna Louise in Moscow, some of which we have published.
If you should return to this [neighborhood] before leaving Japan, we should like to see you again, if possible. So many things I should like to talk over quietly with you.
Please do not trouble to reply unless it is quite easy & convenient to do so.
With all good wishes & regards
Yours Sincerely
John A. Brailsford.
