The Women's Christian College
13 March. 1923
My dear Miss Addams
It was indeed a disappointment to me that your visit to the College occurred exactly at the moment when I could not have the pleasure of seeing you. As I hope they explained to you, I was holding the last Scripture class of the year with some forty students, some of whom will be leaving College in a few days. I would of course have left them if I had been lecturing on any other subject, but to back off a talk about the things of God in order to attend to my own pleasure would naturally have invalidated all I was trying to say. I was hoping very much that you might run half an hour late when I should have been free.
I shall always remember with pleasure that you visited our little College.
Yours very truly
Eleanor McDougall
