Dear Miss Addams,
Miss Moinet & I called at the Taj this morning to enquire after your friend, but were told you were not staying there. We hope she is better.
Will you excuse my sending you a copy of Testimonials from local educational leaders in support of our Building Fund.
We asked our friend, Dr John Mott, if he thought there would be any likelihood of the [Rockefeller] Trust doing anything to help a building for women students in Bombay. He replied that their funds were at present ear marked for China. I wonder if you could give [page 2] us any advice, we should be so grateful, for the matter is very urgent. We have had enough local ↑Bombay↓ support lately to build a beautiful ↑small↓ Holiday Home for students & other educated women on the Coast, [80] miles North of Bombay. Appeal, however, on a large scale for Christian Institutions is difficult at present in India, though the students are thankful enough to use these when built.
