Dear Miss Addams,

Thank you very much for your kind letter and the book. The latter came yesterday. Unfortunately I was not yet able to begin to read as we are very busy to prepare our Annual Meeting in Bremen (April 10-12) and the Lauenstein Summer School.

Thus the book will be a most [agreeable] companion to me on my way to America with the George Washington. I am looking so much forward to see you and our friends again and it seems to me almost too great [page 2] a privilege to be the first woman of the German Section to go to America after this war.

We just had the pleasure of meeting Miss Anne Martin who stayed here with her friend Mabel Vernon. We spent some very nice days together and tried to give them the [information] they wanted.

Hoping to meet you in best health I am

very sincerely yours

Gertrud Baer
