Dear Miss Addams,

I have had an excellent letter from Miss Landazuri under date of March 7. The Mexican situation as you know has been much mixed up. Miss Nichols seems not to have her made ↑herself↓ liked and Mrs. Shadburne is a great self-advertiser and a personality that I think we shall do well to steer clear off. She seems to make the most extraordinary claims about her part in the W.I.L.P.F. Was she really appointed a member of the national ex. Board of the W.I.L. by you as she claims?

I am interested to hear about the Pan-American Conference and that you are to represent the W.I.L.P.F. there (I hope that this is correct). If you can do anything to help our peace work to get into Spanish America I know how glad you will be to do it. Mrs. Post also will be h pleased to help in any way that she can, I hear.

Affectionately yours,
Emily G. Balch [signed]
