Dear Miss Addams

I am so very sorry that I cannot attend the meeting of the Woman's Peace Party Monday as I leave for California Sunday. Will you tell me how you think I can help most? We can give one and if it seems best two [page 2] thousand dollars. It seems so necessary to try to make the world fit for children, to make war and the exploitation of the poor impossible. It would be a comfort to feel that we are doing more.

Very cordially yours

Clara Sturges Johnson
