April 13, 1914.
My dear Mr. Lighty,
I think I will try the [Hutchins] memorial address if it can be put some time in May between the eighteenth and the twenty-third. I shall be very grateful for as long and as full a sketch as you are willing to send me. One is at a terrible disadvantage at a memorial meeting, speaking to old friends of the person so honored without having had a personal acquaintance with him.
May I send my affectionate greetings to Mrs. Lighty, and assure you of my sympathy.
Very sincerely yours,
Jane Addams. [signed]
