PRESIDENT'S OFFICE

                September 6/1911

Dear Miss Addams,

I am very glad indeed to hear that we are to have your new book for publication in March or April. That will be an excellent time for its appearance. Indeed, I feel sure that it is a better time for the appearance of such a book than the crowded autumn months would be. If possible the book should be published in March rather than in April.

I have asked Mr. Marsh to explain to you how the trouble with the unions arose in the case of one of your previous books. We shall arrange, in the case of the new book as requested by you, that <the> binding shall be done in a strictly union shop.

Yours very truly,
George P. Brett [signed]

Miss Jane Addams.
