Miss Wald stated to [me] in Chicago on yesterday that you were anxious to know something of the facts concerning the unfortunate affair at Livermore, Kentucky some weeks ago. Miss Wald wrote me some time ago, sending me certain statements that had appeared in a New York paper in answer to her letter, I wrote her and I am glad to send you a copy of my letter to her.
