NEW YORK, Nov. 13, 1909.

Dear Miss Addams:

Your letter of November 5th is received and after investigation was made it appears that your "Spirit of Youth and the City Streets" has not been sent to the list of college professors which you so kindly gave us. We shall see to it that these go to them at the earliest possible moment and we trust that you will pardon us for having overlooked making this distribution. How the mistake occurred is impossible to understand. We regret it exceedingly and hope that it will not cause any serious complications.
