Dear Miss Addams,
I am sorry to find that something has just developed that will keep me engaged Saturday evening, May 26, but the other nights are free and we are so much hoping that you will find it possible to dine with us on one of them. We have no engagements for a week ahead since this coming Saturday. As soon as I know what you can do I will secure Miss Bowden-Smith who so much wishes to meet [page 2] you and Miss Smith.
Dinner is usually at eight o'clock.
A letter came last evening from Emily Balch in Cairo. I would much like to talk with you about it.
