HULL HOUSE
800 South Halsted Street
Chicago
November 8, 1923.
My dear Mr. Woods:
Twelve thousand five hundred dollars does not seem like a great deal of money. I do wish our Federation of Settlements could raise it.
With the permission to send a Fellow from the United States on alternate years, we would get our money's worth very quickly, in fact, could not make an international gesture at less expense!
May I ask you to return the [enclosed] letter that I may write to Mr. Mallon.
It is horrible the number of demands for money which are coming in all the time, but the scholarship side is important, especially for our settlements.
Faithfully yours,
(Signed) Jane Addams
