Dear Comrade,
I enclose a copy of a letter which we have been able to get published very widely in the English Press, signed by a large number of our most representative people, leaders in Politics, [Labor], Religion, and in Social life.
You will see that it proposes that this year "No More War" and Universal Disarmament Demonstrations should be held in this country on the anniversary of the outbreak of war.
Last year twenty countries simultaneously demonstrated against the method of warfare. This year we intend to make our Demonstrations much more definite and to demand total disarmament, calling upon our Government for immediate Disarmament by Land, Sea, and Air, by mutual agreement.
We are immediately [reforming] our [organizations] in all large towns to prepare for these Demonstrations, and we appeal to you to again [cooperate] with us, so that the one great cry which went up from so many peoples last year, may this year be raised throughout the World, and compel our Governments to cease arming against each other, and thus dragging us into the vortex of an even worse World-War.
