Dear Miss Addams, If you have not done anything about resigning, I hope you will wait until we see how things shape themselves after we get to Providence. I talked with Dr. Ball yesterday -- He is on the nominating [page 2] committee -- voted for Homer Folks first and you second. I think he was committed to the former first and he has worked with Folks also. He feels that you will be elected and that Folks will resign. If that happens there could be no unpleasant conflict. I am agreed with you that that is undesirable from every stand-point [page 3] and I should want you to resign or decline to run if we find that there is to be any.
